The state of Michigan awarded $270,000 in grants to support electronics recycling in sparsely populated areas.
The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) provided money to fund 18 drop-off locations and multiple collection events. Among the organizations receiving money was nonprofit e-scrap processor Comprenew, which received $20,000 to support collections in Otsego County.
This summer, EGLE awarded a $65,000 grant to support the e-scrap collection partnership between Comprenew and Goodwill of Northern Wisconsin and Upper Michigan in the state's Upper Peninsula.
