Massachusetts e-scrap processor Complete Recycling Solutions has been acquired by TerraCycle US, a company that specializes in collection of regulated waste and other scrap streams. 

Three worker deaths and a theft ring investigation upset operations at an Aurubis facility in Hamburg, Germany, and a serious fire shut down production at Rönnskär’s copper smelter in Skelleftehamn, Sweden. 

Global metals recycling company Elemental reached a deal to acquire e-scrap recycling and ITAD company Colt Recycling. The agreement came shortly after Colt doubled its e-scrap recycling capacity in the eastern U.S.

With the date to transition to the R2v3 certification standard one week away, stakeholders estimate dozens of electronics recycling and reuse facilities may temporarily lose their R2 certifications. The lapse could mean serious business consequences for companies.
